INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION RECOVERS STOLEN LAPTOP

US & Canadian Police and CyberAngel® work together to recover stolen computer

Toronto, ON  June 19, 2008 - A laptop computer stolen from businessman in Mississippi has been recovered, due to international cooperation between US and Canadian Law Enforcement and CyberAngel Security Solutions, Inc.  In April of 2007, the victim had his truck broken into while at a casino in Tunica, MS his laptop computer stolen.  He had confidential information about his business and clients.  The CyberAngel®’s Real-Time security approach ensured that the data was encrypted and cloaked, preventing any unauthorized access.

In May of 2008, that stolen computer started calling into the security monitoring center at CyberAngel® Security Solutions, Inc., providing details that it was located in Toronto Canada.  The CyberAngel® Recovery Team worked with the Tunica MS and Toronto ON police providing the current location information.  Within a few days, the Toronto police had recovered that stolen laptop and started the process of returning it to the victim.

Despite attempts to hide the true location by stealing internet connections from wireless routers, the Detectives working on the case were knew exactly where to go.  “This was really simple, the information that CyberAngel provided led us right to the laptop.” remarked the detective associated with the case.
