Data encrypted and secure, recovery made possible thanks to The CyberAngel®

Baltimore, MD  March 3, 2010 -  Several computers stolen from a local University have finally been recovered, due to the hard work of the local Law Enforcement and CyberAngel® Security Solutions, Inc.  Around Christmas of 2009, a break-in of an office at the University resulted in the loss of several computers with sensitive University employee records contained within.  The University had been a client of CyberAngel Security Solutions, Inc. for several years.  The CyberAngel®’s Real-Time security approach ensured that the data was encrypted and cloaked, preventing any unauthorized access.  This prevented the University from having to provide a security breach notification to all of their employees, saving thousands of dollars.

In late February of 2010, 2 of the stolen computers started calling into the security monitoring center at CyberAngel® Security Solutions, Inc., providing details from where they were calling.  The Wi-Trac technology employed by The CyberAngel® provided specific geographical coordinates to assist in the location and recovery effort.  The CyberAngel® Recovery Team worked with the local Law Enforcement from 3 different counties, providing them location information to help in the recovery of those computers.  With The CyberAngel® with Wi-Trac’s unique tracking capabilities allowing it to be tracked even through wireless networks, and through the continued efforts of the local Law Enforcement agencies, not only the two calling in but all of the computers taken during that theft were recovered.
