Stolen Computer Brought Back From KY

South Bend, IN – August 10, 2006 – CyberAngel® Security Solutions, Inc. (CSS, Inc.) has made another recovery, this time in South Bend.  On Valentines Day 2005, a laptop computer belonging to an insurance agent was stolen during a banquet.  The agent had hundreds of client’s confidential information stored on that laptop.  Fortunately the agent's company uses The CyberAngel® on all their computers to encrypt sensitive data and recover lost or stolen hardware.  

Two weeks ago, the stolen computer began covertly contacting The CyberAngel® Security Monitoring Center from the Louisville, KY area without alerting the unauthorized user.  Thanks to the cooperation between law enforcement authorities in Louisville and South Bend, the laptop was recovered and returned to the rightful owner shortly after the covert contact was made.
